Sutton Hoo in Woodbridge, Suffolk is an Anglo-Saxon royal burial site which was given to the National Trust conservation charity in 1998.
The beautiful 255 acre estate has far reaching views over the River Deben is home to one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time. Sutton Hoo is where you will find stories of kings, mysterious mounds and buried treasure.
To help with access to the site Sutton Hoo secured funding for 2 Mountain Trike, MT Push, all terrain wheelchairs which are available to borrow from the visitor centre.
The MT Push all terrain wheelchair is a perfect partnership for both the rider and the person pushing – offering comfort, safety and ease of use. The push handle located behind the rider is where the steering and braking takes place by the riders buddy. With air suspension for comfort when riding over uneven ground and hydraulic brakes for safe stopping.
There are seasonal family walking trails to enjoy, including the Design and Legend sculpture trail, and other walks around the landscape including woodland walks with views across the River Deben. You can even follow in the footsteps of the Anglo-Saxons along the route they are believed to have dragged the ship to the Royal Burial Ground or enjoy panoramic views across the Royal Burial Ground from the 17-metre viewing tower.
