Chris and Lucy, ePush, UK

Prior to the ePush we had a standard wheelchair. Trying to push it through the mud whilst walking the dog became too problematic and so for many months of the year Lucy was not able to experience the countryside.
Even when we did go out, the pusher would get a full workout and Lucy would bounce all over the place.

The ePush has transformed our walks. We can go out regardless of the weather or the terrain.

The steering takes some getting used to. It is very light and sensitive, but once you have got used to it, it really is very comfortable. You are almost not steering it, more guiding it. The battery power really helps just pull you out of hurdles and obstacles and gets you through long grass or muddy puddles.
It really is no effort at all.

The carry shelf at the back (which we added as an extra) means we can take our oxygen and medicines without any strain or hassle.

The only slight downside is that I have long legs and I find I have to watch my step as I occasionally hit the rear wheel when I walk.

Lucy now asks to go for a walk in her chair most days. It's a very comfortable ride for her and it means we can get out and live a more normal life than we were able to before.

Also, I am awaiting a hip replacement. This ePush really makes it easier for me...I can add a bit of power and it helps me up and down kerbs and uneven pavements as well as the off road stuff.
