With a growing child it’s all too easy to make expensive mistakes when choosing a wheelchair. On receipt of the Trike, we finally believe we’ve made a great choice, and it’s been an absolute game changer for us as a family.

We have accessed rough and rocky coastal paths, overcome thick mud at music festivals and enjoyed whizzing along hard sand at our favourite beaches.

The fact that our son can control the steering means he is far more engaged in his surroundings than when he is being pushed, and he also has some capacity to self-power too. The e-assist is fabulous as, although the Trike is light and therefore so much easier to push than a regular manual wheelchair, the extra boost on hills is much appreciated.

We all love our green machine, and looking forward to many more adventures with it.

*Hybrid adaptations means the rider can have a level of independent riding using the lever drive system, but some elements have dual control, such as brakes, steering and e-power which are located in the push handle so the person accompanying the rider can take full or part control when needed. The best of both worlds and a great safe option for those who need it!
