Accessible & Inclusive Places General News
Following a number of demonstrations at Westonbirt Arboretum last year we are thrilled to announce that they now have their own MT Push wheelchair available for visitors to use to help with access to explore their trees from across the globe.
Westonbirt Arboretum is located in Tetbury, Gloucestershire and is home to 2,500 different species from the far corners of the globe and 5 national tree collections. Westonbirt is the perfect place for you to escape, relax or have an adventure! Take a journey up into the canopy on the STIHL Tree Top Walkway, go on a guided walk around the arboretum, stop by the café for a tasty treat or see if you can spot the Gruffalo!
The MT Push is an attendant all terrain wheelchair designed with safety and comfort in mind for both the rider and pusher. The steering and braking takes place in the push handle located behind the rider - hydraulic brakes and air suspension means that travel over any terrain is made easy - which means access around Westonbirt despite ability is possible for everyone.
Westonbirt already provide wheelchair and scooters for visitors, so with the addition of the MT Push it will offer visitors choice of mobility equipment to suit their need.
With Spring in the air now is the perfect plan to organise a trip and visit this magical tree garden.
Normal admission fees apply but the hire of mobility equipment is free of charge.
